Here we have an early hooded punch katar from the Vijayanagara Empire. This elegant all steel weapon has two side bars with double ball grips covered by a hand guard with a monster head final. It features two cusped arches at the forte opposed to four arches in earlier versions. A tapering multi-fullered blade of V-shape form. It's in a 'I've-seen-better' condition. A previous owner did some cleaning and the tip of the blade is blunt. It has dents and signs of corrosion but it's still a desirable object.
