A very good and solid South Indian 'jamadhar' katar. The steel hilt is dome shaped at the forte and is fitted with a European blade as was custom with this type of weapon. The hilt has two finely pierced crossbars of plant motif with faceted balls/ flower buds in the middle. The crossbars enclosing young blossoming plants. The side bars with double contoured edges ending in temple window finals. Nice overall patina on both blade and hilt. Very good to excellent condition. 432 grams. Scroll down to see all pictures.
