Afedali musket
Morocco, early to mid 19th century

An Afedali musket from the Sous Valley in Morocco. It's fitted with an octagonal barrel (100cm) strapped to the stock by nine silver capucines. The walnut stock decorated with pieces of camel bone, silver strips and red scroll-work. The locks buffer is missing and the butt plate misses the top strap. A previous owner refitted the lock using new screws. Most of these item on the market are of poor quality. This is a highly decorative item in a pleasing condition.
