Albanian Jambiya

second half 19th century

An impressive Jambiya dagger with a massive one-piece I shaped handle of walrus ivory. The large blade (32 cm) sports a smooth central rib with only minor surface pitting. The base width of the blade runs smoothly into the the handles outer edges. A design feature which contributes to the firm character of the dagger. An impressive item that has aged beautifully. No scabbard. 480 grams.
