A hooded 'revival' katar
A long bladed and impressive revival katar based on a rare type dating to the 16th and 17th century from South India, Vijayanagar. The hilt fully protected by steel guards visualising a monsters' arms and legs , the uppermost decorated with a 'Yali' monsters head. Our item is well made and in very good condition. The long mounts support a thick double edged tapering blade. Early 20th century.
