A very good quality Indian Tabarzin or Tabar battle axe. Derived from the Persian word for 'saddle axe'. The iron-forged axe head with vertical graduations and slightly rounded socket. Angular hammer face on the back. Topped with a dome shaped final. A hardwood shaft with 8 brass flower-shaped washers securing the wood to the iron shaft strip. A flower engraved brass grip cap and an iron tassle knob. Conditon is good with obvious signs of age and use. Some superficial stress lines caused by forging flaws. Not marked.
