A North Indian katar dagger with typical South Indian design features. North Indian daggers have the blade forged to the hilt whereas South Indians preferred their (often flexible, imported) blades fitted between two langets. In the North they apply gold decorations while the southerners forged decorations into the metal. The blade is of triangular shape with sunken panels and a central rib.
Condition is fair with the dagger being thoroughly cleaned by one of its previous owners. Traces of pitting scattered all over the dagger.
