A very rare presentation Rana kukri knife. It is made entirely of metal and the handle is decorated with gold motifs and scroll work. The overall design corresponds to General Jagat Jung Rana's kukri (dated pre 1885, National Museum of Nepal.) The pommel shows an image of the Kumari goddess. The karda and chakmak blades are made in the same style and the Chakmak has a reinforced tip. A feature never encountered on such a knife. The blade is engraved: 'Presented by Genl. Pratap.' and has a chasing band that runs along the spine towards the tip. Further research is required to establish to whom this kukri was presented. Biography of Pratap Singh
. Extremely rare set with history and in very good condition with minimal gold loss on the handle. No scabbard.
