Ottoman kard
early 19th century
This very nice Ottoman kard knife is fitted with a laddered wootz blade of 20cm. (often referred to as Kirk Narduban) The steel handle with a faceted ferrule and some koftgari decorations (on a cross hatched surface) that have partially faded. The leather scabbard is probably not the original example. A fine kard dagger in overall very good condition.
