Ottoman Martini pistol

last quarter 19th century




Presented here is an Ottoman brass framed falling-block pistol. Probably made in the Balkans for the Turkish market with the brass block most likely further decorated by a reseller. Silver filigree decoration with 70% remaining. These pistols were already obsolete by the time they came into service. No visible markings.
