Presented here is a very elegant Turkish Shamshir sword from the Ottoman period desired by every collector of Eastern arms. The unmarked steel blade measures 80 cm and has one fuller near de back edge. The handle has rhino horn grips with silver crossguard and grips strap. Beautiful tooled leather covered scabbard with silver spiral stitching and two engraved silver diamond shaped mounts and suspension rings. Total length is 96cm. This sword is in very good condition.

Provenance: This item has been in a private Belgian collection for nearly 50 years. The previous owner acquired it in the early 70’s from a house owner who had found it hidden behind a door frame of a Brussels house while doing renovation work on his newly bought property.
