Rajput katar

around 1800 or later

Here we have a heavy Indian katar of unusual proportions. Probably made around 1800 or later. Most likely coming from the Rajasthan armouries. The blade has nicely cut out fullers and a swollen diamond section tip. A four bar cross grip flanked by two very long side bars! A simple but solid fighting piece that would make a worthy attribution to any collection. No scabbard. A picture with a small katar for comparison. 510 grams.
