early 19th century

from the Dr. Alexander von Hoffmeister Collection

From my personal collection; a very nice light-weight infantry spear or barcha with a square blade on a faceted socket, the solid wooden and painted shaft is lacquered. A steel butt consisting of a long spike with a fluted turban shaped projection. This item is in very good condition and stands out from most examples that come on the market.
