Uzbek kard knife
Bukhara, 19th century
Here we have a rare and large sized Uzbek kard with a watered steel blade. The niello silver ferrule boarded with a set of turquoise stones in a silver carousel. (four missing) A talismanic cartouche with nastaliq calligraphy. A lovely one-piece walrus grip that has darkened beautifully. The wootz bichaq blade has a narrow fuller chasing along the spine. Small chip to the cutting edge. No scabbard. Very good condition.
